Have you crossed the GST threshold without noticing?

The threshold isn't tested on your financial-year figures — it's a rolling 12‑month calculation, looking both backwards and forwards. A strong run of work can tip you over before the cash even lands. This free Excel checker does the maths for you: enter each month's turnover, and it rolls the last 12 months and flags the line.

GST Threshold Self-Check

Enter your monthly turnover and the sheet does the rest:

  • Rolls your last 12 months automatically — no manual adding up
  • Flags green / amber / red so you can see the line coming
  • Editable threshold cell (set it to the current ATO figure)
  • A plain-English "how to use" tab, including the forward-looking test

Built for tradies, rideshare drivers, retailers and service businesses who'd rather know now than find out at the next BAS.

Two things the sheet won't tell you

Rideshare has no threshold. Late registration gets backdated.

If you drive for Uber or similar, you must register from your first fare — the $75,000 line doesn't apply. And if you crossed the line months ago, registration can be backdated, so the GST comes out of income you never charged it on. Both are easy to miss and expensive to fix late.

Not sure where you stand?

Let's run your last 12 months together.

Book a quick call and we'll go through your turnover — whether you're over the line now, and roughly when you will be. Cleaner to sort before the next BAS than after.
